Shekinah Brings Out The Glory In You!
Betty Osae grew up in Ghana, West Africa, but presently lives in Dallas, Texas.
Her training in sewing started at an early age, helping her mom with various sewing projects for the family. She got apprenticed to one of Ghana’s top designer’s company-SILVER SCISSORS after she finished high school.She got married and moved to London, U.K. She worked with Tulin Fashions and then Charles Hill Silks, a very prestigious company. She moved back to Ghana after a little over a year and partnered with her sister to start a sewing business called TOTAL IMAGE in Accra, Ghana.
Betty joined a theater group called KOZI-KOZI, where she became the costume designer/maker for the group and gained a high reputation for her work in dressmaking.
Betty relocated to the U.S. and started her own business, SHEKINAH CREATIONS STUDIO and has established classes to teach anybody interested in sewing.
With over thirty years experience in her trade, Betty enjoys working with authentic African cotton prints to make all kinds of outfits and accessories, eg. pillows, curtains etc.
